Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across an entire county. This contract opportunity is ideal for qualified educators with expertise in working with students with hearing differences who can provide in-person support and deliver tailored instruction.

Key Qualifications and Requirements:

Valid certification or credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Experience supporting children and adolescents with hearing impairments, including those who utilize cochlear implants Strong collaboration and communication skills for coordinating with school teams and families Ability to travel within the county and work across multiple sites as needed Flexibility to adapt lesson plans and materials to diverse learning environments On-site presence is mandatory; this is not a virtual/remote position

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction and support services for a caseload of approximately 30 students in various locations throughout the county Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Offer guidance, resources, and advocacy to families and teachers to foster an inclusive and accessible classroom environment Collaborate with school personnel to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as necessary Assist in training staff and providing consultation regarding auditory technology and accessibility Enjoy the variety and fulfillment that comes with serving students across different schools, creating opportunities for growth and learning every day.
