Playful Palace Montessori Childcare Center is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and experienced Lead Teacher to join our childcare team. Position Details Children's ages: 6 weeks to 5 years old Center hours: 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Must be available to open the center at 7:30 a.m. Work schedule and hours may be negotiated Full-time and part-time availability may be considered Required Qualifications Must be qualified through the Delaware Educator Data System (DEEDS) Must hold or be eligible for a Delaware teaching position through an Intern Certificate or other qualifying certification Must meet all Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing requirements Must successfully complete required background checks Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred Must complete all required health, safety, and childcare training Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center is strongly preferred Infant and toddler experience is highly preferred Lead Teacher Responsibilities Plan and provide age-appropriate educational activities Follow the center's Montessori-based curriculum and daily classroom schedule Maintain a safe, organized, clean, and welcoming classroom Supervise children carefully and maintain required staff-to-child ratios Observe and document each child's development and progress Communicate professionally with parents, families, coworkers, and administration Complete attendance, meal, diapering, incident, and daily activity records accurately Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development Follow all center policies and Delaware childcare regulations Assist with classroom cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day Work cooperatively with other teachers and administration Infant Room Teacher Requirements and Responsibilities Provide attentive and nurturing care to infants beginning at 6 weeks old Follow each infant's individual feeding, sleeping, and care schedule Prepare and handle bottles and food safely according to center policies Change diapers at least every two hours and whenever needed Record all bottles, meals, diaper changes, naps, and daily activities Practice safe sleep procedures at all times Supervise infants closely and never leave a child unattended Provide age-appropriate tummy time, sensory play, music, reading, and developmental activities Comfort infants and respond promptly to their physical and emotional needs Maintain a clean and sanitized infant classroom Clean and disinfect toys, cribs, changing areas, feeding areas, and classroom materials Follow proper handwashing, diapering, bottle-feeding, and sanitation procedures Communicate professionally with families regarding their child's day, development, and needs Recognize and report signs of illness, injury, or developmental concerns according to center policy Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate patience, dependability, and professionalism Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is reliable, caring, organized, patient, and passionate about early childhood education.
