Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with each student's unique needs, goals, and abilities. Deliver engaging lessons across core subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies, utilizing instructional modifications and educational technology integration. Provide specialized support in speech therapy, behavioral therapy, music therapy, or other therapeutic modalities as needed to enhance student development. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques tailored for students with special needs, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other specialists to coordinate student care plans. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss concerns, and foster strong home-school partnerships. Utilize assessment tools such as standardized testing and formative evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in special education, childhood development, or a related field; advanced certifications in special education are preferred. Proven experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, visual impairments, or other disabilities within classroom settings. Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, instructional modifications, and educational compliance standards. Proficiency in learning technology tools, educational software, and instructional design techniques to enhance learning outcomes. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external specialists. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse learners. Experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly desirable; prior private school experience is a plus.
