9690633-30549 Job Description Inspire and support young learners as an Autism Teacher in a dedicated special education environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work full-time with a small group of K-2 students in an adaptive program specifically designed for those who are mostly non-verbal and have varying adaptive needs. Located in a nurturing elementary campus near Jefferson, this role is ideal for educators passionate about making a meaningful impact on students academic and personal growth.
Key Qualifications:
Current and active Georgia Special Education Teacher certification with Adaptive Curriculum endorsement (required) Experience working with students on the autism spectrum, preferably in early elementary (K-2) Skill in adapting curriculum and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Ability to create a structured, compassionate, and engaging classroom environment Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and adapt lessons to suit students unique learning profiles Implement tailored behavioral and academic interventions for K-2 students, primarily non-verbal Track, document, and report on student progress in alignment with IEP goals Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each childs education Maintain a positive and safe classroom atmosphere that fosters trust and encourages student independence This position is offered on a full-time, onsite basis only, within a supportive school setting.
