Job Description:
School-Based Special Education Teacher - Self-Contained Behavior Classroom (Grades 3-5) | In-Person | Waukegan, IL Area | 2026-2027 School Year Kindspire Education is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a self-contained behavior classroom (grades 3-5) in the Waukegan, IL area for the 2026-2027 school year. If you're passionate about supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs in a structured, team-based classroom, we'd love to hear from you.
Position Details:
Full-time, school-based position 2026-2027 school year Monday-Friday school schedule Self-contained behavior classroom, grades 3-5 Paraprofessional and BCBA support in the classroom Virtual interviews
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction aligned to each student's IEP goals Implement and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with the BCBA and school team Collect and document behavioral and academic data to track progress Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families Maintain accurate IEP documentation and progress reporting
Qualifications:
Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement required (or eligible) Experience in a self-contained or behavior classroom preferred CPI or similar crisis prevention training a plus Strong classroom management and IEP writing skills Why Kindspire Education?
