Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of middle school students through a dynamic contract opportunity supporting learners with special needs. This full-time position offers two distinct roles at a bustling junior high school: a Special Education Resource Teacher overseeing a caseload of approximately 25-30 students (mild intervention certification required), and a Special Education Essential Teacher working closely with a small group of 10 students (intense intervention certification required). The schedule spans Monday through Friday, with workdays running from 8:20 AM to 3:10 PM.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Indiana teaching license with appropriate Special Education endorsement(s) Certification in mild intervention for Resource role, or intense intervention for Essential role Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a school setting preferred Strong skills in individualized instruction, progress monitoring, and collaboration with general education staff Ability to manage multiple IEPs and provide tailored support to help students meet their academic and developmental goals
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned with IEP goals and state standards Develop and implement lesson plans adapted for student needs in cooperation with support staff Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports and compliance with all legal requirements Foster a supportive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment Communicate proactively with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams Enjoy the rewards of daily impact while collaborating with dedicated professionals in a supportive school community.
