Job Description

$32.00, three (3) hours per day

school year days JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Academic Interventionist will be providing daily small group targeted instruction based on classroom and assessment data within our MTSS model. The interventionist will work closely with the District ELL Coordinator to support proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

The successful candidate will have school based experience and knowledge of K- 5 educational practices. Strong knowledge in language at an elementary level, is preferred. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the District ELL Coordinator, teachers, other paraprofessionals, and service providers within the school to provide the best possible education for all students. Developing positive relationships with students and staff is at the core of what will make the candidate successful in this position. This individual will work under the general supervision of the classroom teacher, building principal, and/or another designated administrator.

JOB REQUIRMENTSMinimum Bachelors Degree, Master's Degree preferredESL or ELL K-6 or
K-8 DESE
license, preferred.

Experiences working with children.

Demonstrated ability to establish positive & supportive relationships with students.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student(s), family, and school information.

Demonstrated ability to provide academic instruction to students with educational disabilities and/or learning deficits. OTHERThis position is NOT eligible for the Town's health insurance, contractual sick days & personal days and tuition reimbursement. EVALUTIONPerformance of this position will be evaluated annually in writing by the Principal.
