Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an engaging educational environment supporting students with unique needs in a specialized middle school program. This is a full-time, onsite position for a dedicated Special Education Teacher, running from August 17th through June 4th. You'll work closely with a diverse group of approximately 15 students as part of the Learning for Life Program, making a significant impact on their academic and personal growth.
Essential qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification is required. Experience working with middle school-aged students, particularly those with varying learning needs. Strong collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families. Ability to craft and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), tracking and documenting progress consistently. Excellent communication and organizational skills to support daily classroom management and documentation needs. Adaptability and a passion for fostering inclusive, positive learning environments.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction and differentiated lessons tailored to each student's educational goals. Create a structured classroom atmosphere that emphasizes respect, growth, and achievement. Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student. Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in students' IEPs. Maintain clear and consistent communication with families and related service providers regarding student progress. Manage daily classroom operations from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
