A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Qualifications and Experience:
Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role highly desired Comfortable working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs Flexibility and an adaptable approach to changing classroom needs Professional communication skills for interacting with staff, students, and families Ability to follow educator direction and school protocols High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications preferredPrimary Responsibilities:
Provide instructional support to students under the supervision of a certified teacher Assist with classroom management and help maintain a positive learning environment Adapt materials and activities to meet the unique needs of individual students Support students during group work and one-on-one sessions Help facilitate inclusion and engagement for all students in daily activities Monitor student progress and report observations to instructional staff This contract opportunity will allow you to work closely with dedicated education professionals and contribute to a supportive learning atmosphere.
