Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) required State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is mandatory Experience working with pediatric populations in a school setting, especially in a 1:1 capacity, is highly desired Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans for students with visual impairments Strong communication and collaboration skills for working alongside teachers, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the 1:1 teacher for a visually impaired student, delivering tailored instruction and support Adapt general education curriculum to meet the students unique learning needs Incorporate assistive technology and mobility training as appropriate Monitor, document, and report on student progress, communicating regularly with school staff and families Facilitate an inclusive learning environment that cultivates confidence and self-advocacy Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on goal setting
