In this vital role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for toddlers, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. As a leader in the classroom, you will implement innovative curriculum strategies, manage daily activities, and build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early childhood development, literacy education, and physical activity tailored to two-year-olds. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management. Lead daily classroom activities including circle time, play-based learning, arts and crafts, and outdoor exploration to support holistic child development. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings and written updates. Collaborate with colleagues to design individualized learning plans for children requiring special education or early intervention services. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of children's developmental progress and incidents. Maintain current knowledge of best practices in early childhood education, including Montessori methods and standards for preschool teaching. Qualifications Proven experience working with young children in a classroom setting; prior preschool or daycare experience preferred. Strong knowledge of child development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies. Experience developing curricula that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is essential. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Ability to plan lessons that meet developmental milestones while fostering creativity and independence. Background in special education or early intervention services is a plus. Demonstrated commitment to child welfare, safety procedures, and inclusive teaching practices.
