Position Overview:
Join a collaborative team supporting students with disabilities as they participate in the nationally recognized Project SEARCH transition-to-employment program. In this role, you'll provide specially designed instruction in functional academics, workplace readiness, and independent living skills while collaborating with hospital staff, employment specialists, families, and school teams to help students achieve successful competitive employment outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Provide individualized special education instruction during workplace internship rotations Develop and implement IEP goals, progress monitoring, and required documentation Collaborate with Employment Support Specialists, hospital staff, families, and educational teams Teach functional academic, daily living, and workplace readiness skills Support students in developing the skills needed for long-term employment and independence Assist students in transitioning to competitive community employment upon program completion
Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification (required) Bachelor's degree in Education or related field Experience developing and implementing IEPs Knowledge of curriculum-based assessments and evidence-based instructional strategies Passion for working with transition-age students and individuals with disabilities Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Valid driver's license with a clean driving record If you're passionate about preparing students for meaningful employment and independent living, we'd love to hear from you!
