Qualifications & Experience:

Must hold an active Pennsylvania teaching license Current PA PDE certification (Special Education) required Prior experience in special education settings Demonstrated involvement in IEP development and implementation In-person availability only (no remote options) Reliable transportation to sites within assigned county

Responsibilities:

Serve as an itinerant Special Education Teacher, filling in for educator absences across districts in Carbon or Lehigh counties as needed Provide individualized instruction and support according to IEPs and student needs Step into classroom environments where regular staff are absent, ensuring continuity of care and learning Build rapport with students, staff, and families to maximize educational outcomes Respond with flexibility—cover short-term daily assignments or longer-term leaves and vacations If not covering an absence, assist in one of the agency's classrooms, contributing to varied educational settings Maintain thorough records and collaborate with colleagues to uphold compliance and best practices
