Key Qualifications:

Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Thorough understanding of strategies, assistive technology, and curriculum adaptations for students with visual impairments Experience supporting a diverse caseload of school-aged children in educational settings Strong collaboration and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams Ability to travel between different school sites within the county Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accommodating learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments Assess each students unique educational needs, develop customized learning plans, and regularly monitor progress Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to adapt materials, activities, and environments Offer guidance on the use of assistive technology and specialized teaching techniques Participate in IEP meetings, supporting the development and implementation of goals and accommodations
