Essential Qualifications:

Current Washington State Special Education teaching license and ESA certificate, both verified and in-hand Minimum of 5 years full-time special education teaching experience in a school setting (mid-career professionals strongly preferred) Demonstrated ability to support students with a range of abilities and needs, particularly in transition programs for young adults (ages 18-22) Background working collaboratively with support staff, families, and specialized service providers Adaptability, excellent communication skills, and passion for fostering independence in students preparing for adulthood Onsite availability for the full school year (37.5 hours per week); remote/virtual teaching is not an option

Guide students through academic, vocational, and social-emotional transitions and skill-building Develop and implement individualized education and transition plans, in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles Collaborate with families and community partners to ensure seamless transitions and strong post-school outcomes Participate in IEP meetings, ongoing professional development, and school-based initiatives Inspire growth and independence as part of an enthusiastic educational community.
