Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for an Elementary Special Education Teacher to make an immediate impact in a supportive resource classroom. This is a contract position covering a maternity leave, expected for 6 weeks with possible extension up to 2 months. Working 37.5 hours per week, including lunch and prep time, you'll follow a consistent daily schedule from 8:25am to 3:10pm, providing targeted support to students in need. You will join a dedicated educational team and work directly with a manageable caseload of 14 students, typically collaborating with small groups of 4-5 at a time. Qualifications:

Current Rhode Island Special Education Certification (K-6 required) Demonstrated experience in elementary resource rooms or similar environments Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and resource room models Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Ability to provide engaging, differentiated instruction in small group settings Flexible, positive approach to working in a dynamic school setting
