Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting student success and well-being as an Occupational Therapist for a temporary contract assignment. You'll play an essential part in assisting a local school system in the Pawtucket, RI area, providing coverage for a medical leave. This opportunity is ideal for professionals seeking a rewarding position with flexibility, making a real difference one day a week over the next 6 to 12 weeks.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current and valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Rhode Island Previous experience in a school setting working with children and adolescents Strong understanding of IEP processes and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and educational staff Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize caseload responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, helping them achieve their educational and developmental goals Administer assessments and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to implement strategies in the classroom and at home Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings, offering professional recommendations Support the transition and continuity of care for students during the period of medical leave coverage Make a meaningful impact with a flexible, short-term assignment while enjoying professional engagement in a supportive educational environment.
