This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week and is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Active Special Education Teacher certification in South Carolina is required Background in working with middle school students, preferably in a self-contained or similar setting Solid understanding of best practices in special education, instructional adaptations, and individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong communication skills for collaborating with general education staff, families, and support teams Compassionate approach with a dedication to fostering students' academic and personal growth
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to middle school students in a self-contained environment, adapting materials to meet individual learning styles and needs Develop and implement IEPs, working closely with students, families, and colleagues to set and achieve educational goals Monitor progress, collecting data and making instructional adjustments to enhance student learning and independence Collaborate with school professionals and support staff to ensure a comprehensive educational experience Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture, emphasizing respect, encouragement, and engagement
