Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real difference in students' lives by providing tailored support as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. This role, located near Jarrell, TX, gives you the opportunity to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for students who benefit most from individualized instruction. With a flexible start date and assignments running through late May 2027, you'll build meaningful relationships and help learners reach their full potential.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching credential/certification appropriate for the state. Experience supporting K-12 students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementing modifications or accommodations. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, families, and support staff. Ability to cultivate a positive, encouraging learning environment and manage a dynamic classroom.
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction tailored to students' unique learning styles and needs. Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as required. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and specialists to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies. Assess and document student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and the educational team. Maintain compliance with special education laws, district policies, and best practices. Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training initiatives as needed. This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, giving you the chance to make a lasting impact from now through the 2026-2027 school year.
