Job Description

Make an impact in the lives of young learners in the Kent, WA area by bringing your expertise to an elementary special education setting. This full-time contract opportunity extends from ASAP through June 2027, offering meaningful work and ongoing stability as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive, inclusive environment. Youll work with the LRC1 caseload at an elementary campus, utilizing your skills and compassion to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and foster positive growth for every student. This back-fill position is ideal for educators dedicated to advocating for children, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and making a real difference in the classroom day-to-day.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher License and Certification (required) Previous experience in an elementary special education setting preferred Willingness to obtain or update fingerprinting through OSPI (required) Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to varied learning needs Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support for students on an LRC1 caseload Create and maintain IEPs with measurable goals to ensure educational progress Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment Track student performance and adjust strategies to maximize achievement Maintain compliance with all special education regulations and documentation This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours/week) offers you the chance to develop lasting relationships with students, hone your teaching craft, and be a vital resource in the school community.
