This full-time onsite contract position is suited for experienced special education professionals ready to leverage their skills and foster independence in a welcoming, supportive environment for the 2026-2027 school year.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Washington state Special Education teaching license (SPED) and ESA certificate; must verify credentials. Minimum of five years of special education teaching experience, ideally within school settings. Demonstrated expertise supporting students in transition programs or life skills classes. Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to culturally responsive and strengths-based instructional approaches. Experienced in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for older adolescents or young adults.

Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in a transition classroom focused on life, vocational, and independent living skills. Lead IEP planning, progress monitoring, and coordination with related service providers. Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, supporting student self-advocacy and goal setting. Collaborate closely with families, local resources, and community agencies to ensure holistic transition support. Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in school-wide initiatives. Maintain clear records and documentation as required by school and state policies.
