Key Qualifications:

At least five years of demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly within school settings Washington State Special Education (SPED) teaching license and valid ESA certificate (must be verified and up to date) Substantial background working with older students (ages 18-22) and in transition classrooms preferred Strong collaborative and communication skills to support students educational and life goals Capacity to adapt instruction and supports for diverse learning styles and needs

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver evidence-based instruction and individualized supports to students in a transition classroom Collaborate with families, service providers, and school teams to develop effective individualized education plans (IEPs) Provide guidance for vocational, life, and community skills to help students achieve greater independence Maintain timely and accurate documentation and participate in meetings related to student progress Comply with district-specific credentialing and the BIE adjudication process Why Consider This Role?
