Approximate Dates:

Mid-November through Mid-February Caravel Academy is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute High School Physics Teacher to provide instruction for approximately three months, beginning in mid-November and continuing through mid-January. The long-term substitute will be responsible for teaching multiple levels of high school physics, including: Advanced Physics Honors Physics AP Physics We are looking for an individual with a strong background in physics who is comfortable working with motivated high school students across varying levels of rigor. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain continuity of instruction, facilitate laboratory and hands-on learning experiences when appropriate, and support students as they progress through an established physics curriculum. Responsibilities Provide daily instruction in Advanced, Honors, and AP Physics courses. Follow established curriculum, pacing, and course expectations. Prepare for and deliver engaging, content-appropriate lessons. Assess student understanding and provide timely feedback. Maintain accurate grades and student records throughout the assignment. Provide appropriate support and additional assistance to students as needed. Maintain a positive, structured, and academically focused classroom environment. Communicate with students, families, faculty, and administration as appropriate. Collaborate with department members and school administration to ensure a smooth transition into and out of the long-term assignment. Preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of high school and college-preparatory physics. Ability to confidently teach advanced physics concepts. Bachelor's degree required; degree or significant coursework in physics, engineering, science, education, or a related field preferred. Previous teaching or instructional experience preferred. Experience with AP Physics is highly desirable. Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
