Job Description
Purpose of Position Floater will help with breaks, lunches, and help keep ratio at the end of the day to help classrooms finish cleaning. They will assist in watching the students and helping the teachers when needed. Duties and Responsibilities Will assist with ratio Be familiar with each classroom Respond to teachers that need assistance Maintain confidentiality Be able to stick to a schedule Commit to follow and uphold the rules, regulations, and procedures of the center Maintain a professional appearance and attitude Maintain daily open communication with teachers and other staff Attend staff meetings Work cooperatively with staff Frequently check on classrooms to ensure that they do not need assistance, if no assistance is needed a list of tasks will be provided Be flexible with hours and position as it may change as enrollment fluctuates Duties may include: Setting up for meal time Supervising children while at play Assisting or monitoring with diapering or toileting Setting up for nap time Assisting children in going down for naps Daily cleaning and sanitation of classroom Required Certification and Training Current First Aid and CPR certifications Current Food Handlers Central Background Registry Oregon Childcare Registry Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety Infant Safe Sleep Prevention is Better Than Treatment Additional Requirements Obtain 15 hours of continued education each year Preferred 1 year experience in child care or early childhood education Must be patient, loving, gentle, playful, happy, reliable, honest, and a team player
