Key Qualifications:

Active CA Paraprofessional License required Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential Previous experience working with students in educational settings strongly preferred Ability to support both teachers and students across diverse grade levels (K-12) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with specialized needs within a Deaf or hard-of-hearing student population is a plus

Responsibilities:

Partner with certified teachers to assist in classroom activities and individualized instruction Provide interpretation and communication support for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing Adapt and modify educational materials under teacher guidance to suit the needs of students Foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere Monitor student progress and provide feedback to educational staff Support daily routines and class transitions, ensuring student safety and encouragement
