Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and Full-time Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our early childhood education team. This role involves supporting classroom activities, assisting lead teachers, and providing a nurturing environment for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years old. The ideal candidate will have a passion for child development, experience working with children, and a strong understanding of educational best practices, including special education and behavior management. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a positive learning environment while gaining valuable classroom experience in a supportive setting. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans focused on development tailored to early childhood education standards. Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to foster a safe and engaging environment. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction, especially for children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or other developmental challenges. Help with daily routines such as diapering, feeding, and nap times for infants and toddlers. Support classroom organization and maintenance of educational materials and supplies. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social-emotional development, literacy skills, and early numeracy concepts. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth classroom operations and effective communication with parents. Adapt activities for children with diverse needs. Assist in curriculum development efforts to enhance learning experiences across different programs. Requirements Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or similar environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development theories, including Montessori methods and behavior management techniques. Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs, including autism spectrum disorder. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Background in early childhood education or related fields such as special education or literacy education is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating flexibility as a floater across multiple classrooms. Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to infant or toddler-aged children. Compassionate attitude with excellent classroom management skills and patience when working with diverse learners. This role provides an enriching environment for individuals passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to fostering growth in young learners through engaging activities and supportive interactions.
