9669392-64133 Job Description Engage in impactful work supporting students who need compassionate, personalized care in an educational setting near Kansas City, MO. This contract opportunity is ideal for those who thrive as school paraprofessionals and want to make a daily difference in the lives of medically fragile students. Your role will focus on providing vital 1:1 assistance to two female studentsone in 4th grade and one in 11th grade. Both students require toileting and diapering, and the older student may also display challenging behaviors.
Key Qualifications:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional, particularly in a school environment Experience supporting medically fragile students or a strong willingness to learn Comfort and sensitivity with toileting and diapering responsibilities Patience and skill in working with students who display a range of behaviors Familiarity with a hoyer lift is a plus (training provided if needed) Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary educational team Strong communication and observational skills
Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the academic day for assigned students Implement care plans, including personal care needs such as toileting/diapering Assist with classroom participation and individualized activities, adapting as needed for each student Use and/or learn assistive equipment such as hoyer lifts with proper training Attend Tuesday morning team meetings at 8:00 am; standard building hours are 8:45 am4:15 pm Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment
