Full-Time, School-Based Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and motivated Instructional Assistant / Teacher Assistant to support students and teachers in a high school general education setting. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in education, teaching, youth development, or gaining hands-on experience working in a school environment. The Instructional Assistant will work alongside classroom teachers to provide academic support, reinforce classroom expectations, assist students with assignments, and help create a positive and engaging learning environment. Responsibilities Provide classroom support to teachers in a general education setting Work individually and in small groups with high school students Assist students with assignments, coursework, and classroom activities Reinforce teacher-led lessons, study skills, and classroom expectations Monitor student participation, engagement, and progress Assist teachers with classroom management and encourage positive student behavior Help prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom activities Provide support during testing and other academic activities as needed Document observations and communicate student needs to appropriate educational staff Maintain a safe, professional, and supportive classroom environment Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff Perform additional classroom support duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Previous experience working with children, teenagers, or school-aged students is preferred Experience as a Teacher Assistant, Instructional Assistant, Classroom Aide, Paraprofessional, Tutor, Substitute Teacher, or Youth Support Professional is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a high school environment Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and school staff Ability to engage with and support students with a variety of academic and developmental needs Passion for helping students succeed academically and socially Ideal Candidates This opportunity may be a great fit for individuals with backgrounds in education, teaching, tutoring, childcare, youth development, behavioral health, social services, psychology, or human services who are interested in gaining additional school-based experience.
