Department Physical Therapy Program Location Erie, Pa Position Summary The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Gannon University is committed to excellence in student-centered learning, with an emphasis on student learning outcomes. Graduate Assistants play an important role in achieving these outcomes by working collaboratively with program faculty and fellow Graduate Assistants to support program operations, facilitate open laboratory experiences, provide academic support as requested by faculty, and assist with clinical practice opportunities. While each Graduate Assistant has primary responsibilities, all GAs are expected to work collaboratively, support one another, and contribute to program needs as they arise. As leaders and representatives of the DPT Program, Graduate Assistants are expected to demonstrate professionalism, initiative, flexibility, maintain student confidentiality, and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the standards and values of the program. This position is for students who will begin the second year of the DPT program.

Academic Support Facilitate structured review sessions, open laboratory review sessions, and hands-on practice sessions for first-year DPT students. Provide individualized tutoring for first-year students as requested by faculty. Assist faculty with grading and communicate attendance, participation, and session summaries following review and tutoring sessions. 2. Laboratory Operations Maintain physical therapy laboratory environments, including routine organization, equipment checks, instructional space preparation, and inventory of designated laboratory supplies. Coordinate student laboratory logistics, including check-off scheduling and other laboratory activities. Assist with specialized laboratory equipment and instructional resources to support student learning. 3. Program Support Coordinate undergraduate observation experiences and student engagement initiatives. Collaborate with faculty on program operations and complete additional administrative or program support responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications Enrollment as a second-year student in the Gannon University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Demonstrated academic success and strong foundational knowledge appropriate to providing peer academic support for first-year DPT coursework. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, initiative, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively teach, mentor, and support first-year DPT students in both individual and group learning environments. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, fellow Graduate Assistants, and students. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications No instances of academic or professional behavior probation. Experience with tutoring or teaching role in undergraduate education. Physical Demands Responsibilities are performed primarily in physical therapy teaching laboratories, classrooms, and office settings. Duties require standing and walking for extended periods during laboratory sessions and review activities, routine use of computers and instructional technology, and assisting with the organization, set-up, maintenance, and preparation of laboratory spaces and instructional equipment.
