Part-time About Huntington Learning Center Huntington Learning Center is dedicated to helping students achieve their academic potential through personalized instruction and proven teaching methods. We work with students from kindergarten through high school, providing support in reading, writing, math, study skills, and test preparation. Our goal is to help every student gain the skills, confidence, and motivation needed for long-term success. Position Overview We are currently hiring a K-6 Academic Tutor who is passionate about helping students grow in both language arts and math fundamentals . In this role, you'll work with students one-on-one or in small groups (maximum of 4:1 ratio), focusing on reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and elementary/middle school math skills —including topics such as number sense, fractions, word problems, and pre-algebra. This is a great opportunity for educators who enjoy working with a variety of ages and subjects, especially those who excel at building strong academic habits and boosting student confidence. Key Responsibilities Deliver personalized instruction in reading, writing, and elementary-level math Reinforce foundational skills such as vocabulary, grammar, spelling, math fluency, and problem-solving Support students as they develop strong academic habits and school readiness skills Implement Huntington's structured curriculum and instructional plans Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment that motivates student success Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (Education or a related field preferred) Prior teaching or tutoring experience Ability to teach both language arts and foundational math concepts Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patient, flexible, and supportive approach to working with students Passion for helping students build confidence and achieve their goals Why Join Us?
