Job Description

Step into an impactful, full-time role supporting K-8 students in a vibrant academic setting. This contract opportunity is onsite, with an immediate start running through June 10, 2027. You'll work 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 4:00PM, with no scheduling accommodations. The caseload includes both general education and students requiring emotional and autistic support, making versatility and compassion essential.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required; eligibility for emergency teaching permit possible with degree. Active Pennsylvania teaching certification or licensure appropriate for the caseload. Up-to-date PA clearances or ability to obtain them before start date. Demonstrated success teaching in urban school environments. Experience working with special needs populations, specifically emotional and autistic support programs. Proficiency in designing and delivering standards-aligned lesson plans, using formative assessment and differentiated instruction. Exceptional classroom and behavioral management skills. Comfort and adaptability to school and district culture, with a willingness to embrace the unique needs of the school community. Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and district standards. Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment for general and special needs students. Collaborate with school staff and support teams to address the academic and behavioral needs of all learners. Maintain accurate and timely records, including student progress, attendance, and incident documentation. Utilize creative instructional resources and technology to enhance student learning outcomes. Participate in school meetings, professional development, and parent engagement activities.
