Required Degree:

Doctoral degree with specialization in literacy, children's literature, or a related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:

Successful K-12 public school classroom teaching experience (preference given to candidates with a minimum of three years) Demonstrated potential for research productivity Demonstrated ability/interest to partner with local schools Knowledge of national trends in literacy and children's literature

Duties/Expectations:

Teaching Teach courses related to elementary literacy and children's literature at the undergraduate level, and related courses at the master's level Mentor undergraduate and master's students in research and teaching Advise master's and doctoral degree candidates Scholarship Engage in high levels of research activity and publication Citizenship Demonstrate a pattern of leadership at the department, school, and university levels Fulfill committee assignments and other citizenship activities inside the university, community, and profession Documents Required at the
