POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under supervision of the site administrator, the EMT CTE Instructor will teach and train high school students in the fundamental skills and knowledge required for entry-level positions as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Instruction will emphasize hands-on skill development, safety practices, and real-world applications. The curriculum includes anatomy and physiology, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma response, CPR, first aid, and professional ethics. Integrated throughout are employability skills and preparation for industry-recognized certifications.

Stay updated on EMT and EMS industry trends and certifications through continuous professional learning. Partner with local EMS providers, fire departments, and healthcare facilities to provide students with industry connections. E Work closely with school administration, counselors, and other staff to support student success. E Participate in program marketing and student recruitment activities to promote the EMT pathway.
E ABILITY TO
Ability to develop and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons. Competence in managing a classroom or lab environment, including maintaining equipment and resources. Experience in fostering partnerships with community organizations and local businesses. Knowledge and application of a variety of teaching strategies to engage all learning modalities. Ability to organize environment and instruction to facilitate learning with the integration of reading and writing skill development. Ability to write lesson plans for individual and group instruction. Ability to use diverse teaching strategies to meet students' learning styles, abilities, interests, and cultural backgrounds. Ability to follow CTE policy/procedure, including maintaining student and other required records. Ability to work effectively as a team member. 10. Ability to engage students in team building and student recruitment activities. 11. Prior teaching experience, preferably in a CTE program. 12. Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and community partners.

Eligibility:
Three years of work experience directly related to the industry. One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and the experience may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid. Possess a high school diploma or GED Test or foreign equivalent of a high school diploma Verification, signed by the Commission-approved program sponsor, that the applicant has been apprised of the requirements for both the preliminary and clear credentials, including the requirements of the program of personalized preparation. Provide verification of training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) that covers infant, child, and adult CPR skills that meets the standards established by the American Heart Association or Red Cross. Recommendation by a Commission-approved CTE program sponsor . Proven experience in EMS as a licensed EMT or paramedic. Prior teaching or mentoring experience in a classroom or training setting preferred . Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of current EMT industry standards, protocols, and certification requirements.
