Job Description The Coating NPI Engineer supports the industrialization of new coated products by developing and optimizing robot ‑ controlled thermal plasma coating processes. Key Responsibilities Lead development of the thermal plasma coating process flowline Adjust parameters and robot programming to achieve accurate, stable, and repeatable coating results Define and control plasma coating parameters (flow, torch speed, stand ‑ off distance, etc.) Ensure coating conformity with customer specifications and technical requirements Optimize microstructure, porosity, thickness, adhesion, and coating quality Interpret metallurgical test results (micrographs, hardness, porosity, oxides, roughness, etc.) Conduct coating qualification phases for each part number Document process results, trials, and validation reports Implement continuous process improvements Ensure safety and quality compliance in all coating operations Qualifications Bachelor s degree in mechanical, Materials Engineering or related field Ability to read, interpret, and validate metallurgical and mechanical test results Experience with process validation activities Strong analytical and problem ‑ solving skills for process development Knowledge of robot programming (ABB or similar) is an asset Key Competencies Technical leadership in process development Precision and attention to detail Data ‑ driven decision making Cross ‑ functional collaboration Continuous improvement mindset Good English level
