Position Summary The Spare Parts Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, identification, control, and distribution of spare parts and maintenance materials. The role ensures that spare parts are properly managed, accurately recorded, readily available when required, and stored in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements. The Spare Parts Storekeeper works closely with the Maintenance, Purchasing, Finance, and Production teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels and support equipment availability while minimizing stock shortages and excess inventory. Key Responsibilities Spare Parts & Inventory Management Receive, inspect, identify, and store spare parts, maintenance materials, and consumables. Ensure all spare parts are properly labeled, identified, and stored in designated locations. Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system or inventory management system. Monitor stock levels and identify critical, low-stock, obsolete, or excess items. Perform regular cycle counts and participate in physical inventory activities. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Ensure proper stock rotation and traceability of parts when applicable. Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels based on maintenance requirements. Material Issuing & Distribution Issue spare parts and maintenance materials to authorized personnel based on approved requests. Record all material movements accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure that parts issued to maintenance teams are correctly identified and documented. Follow up on returned, unused, or defective parts and update inventory records accordingly. Support urgent spare-part requirements to minimize equipment downtime. Receiving & Documentation Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, delivery notes, and required documentation. Report damaged, incorrect, or missing items to the appropriate department. Ensure received materials are properly entered into the inventory system. Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, returns, and adjustments. Warehouse Organization & Safety Maintain the spare parts store in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Apply 5S principles and standard warehouse practices. Ensure proper storage conditions for spare parts and maintenance materials. Follow company Health, Safety & Environmental requirements. Ensure appropriate handling and storage of hazardous or controlled materials when applicable. Identify and report unsafe conditions within the storage area. Continuous Improvement Support initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and spare parts availability. Identify opportunities to optimize storage locations and material flow. Participate in problem-solving activities related to inventory discrepancies and material availability. Contribute to cost-saving initiatives through effective inventory control. Required Qualifications Technical or vocational diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, Maintenance, or a related field . Previous experience in a warehouse, spare parts store, maintenance store, or industrial environment is preferred. Experience in an aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, or industrial environment is an advantage. Basic knowledge of inventory management and warehouse processes. Good computer skills and ability to work with ERP/inventory management systems. Ability to read and understand technical part numbers and documentation. Basic knowledge of health and safety requirements. Skills & Competencies Strong organization and attention to detail. Good inventory control and record-keeping skills. Working Conditions On-site position within an industrial manufacturing environment. Regular interaction with maintenance and production teams. May require handling and movement of spare parts and materials in accordance with applicable safety procedures. Availability to support urgent maintenance requirements when necessary.
