PCI is a small, multi-disciplinary firm that specializes in ecological restoration throughout Northern California. Our team of landscape architects, engineers, scientists, planners, and construction staff work collaboratively to produce high-quality outcomes for our clients. Our work focuses on environmental restoration, habitat enhancement, and landscape design, with an emphasis on rivers and watersheds to support ecological recovery. PCI is committed to maintaining a workplace that fosters creativity and produces tangible benefits for our clients and the environment. The ideal candidate has the ability to think critically when approaching complex restoration projects and bring a mix of design, drafting, rendering, and management skills to their daily work. We are seeking a licensed landscape architect or engineer capable of effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams from project inception through final design and implementation. The position will be filled at either the intermediate or senior level commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. See our website at pciecological.com. Typical Tasks
- Design and plan production for restoration and enhancement projects in natural landscapes
- Rendering high-quality graphics for presentation
- Project coordination and management
- Participation in client meetings and presentations
- Site visits and field work
- Create construction plan sets and details[MJ1] for a broad range of environmental enhancement projects with an emphasis on restoration design
- Help develop proposals and fee estimates for design projects
- Mentor and provide peer support for junior-level staff of various disciplines. Qualifications
- BS/MS in landscape architecture, civil or environmental engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience with a landscape architecture, planning, or engineering firm
- Technical understanding of landscape architecture or environmental engineering including site design, construction detailing, revegetation design, grading and drainage
- Demonstrated experience preparing restoration designs and/or construction documents and producing high-quality graphics
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D[CL2] , Microsoft and Adobe suites Desired Skills & Abilities
- Professional landscape architecture or engineering license in California
- Professional experience focused on LID, open space/ park design, stream and wetland restoration design, habitat enhancement
- Strong graphics experience with understanding of line weights, layout and color
- Ability and enthusiasm to work collaboratively in a dynamic work environment
- Experience in fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, hydraulics, ecology and/or related fields
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and/or 3D modeling software (Sketch Up, Lumion)
- Knowledge of California native plants
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks and lead/manage projects to meet project objectives, timelines, and budgets
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with a range of clients
- Commitment to learning, critical thinking, and professional development Work Environment Work is performed in an office environment with occasional field work, including site assessments, client meetings, and/or construction observation required.
Salary Range:
