Job Description
Job OverviewAtWork is seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Electrical Technician to join our clients team in Madison, AL. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and a passion for vehicle maintenance and repair. As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that vehicles operate safely and efficiently. Your expertise will contribute to providing exceptional service to our customers while maintaining high standards of quality.
The ideal candidate should be proficient with using many different types of power tools, both electrical and air powered. This person should also have their own hand tools(see below). This candidate should have 12 volt DC experience, preferably in an automotive environment(such as wiring car stereos, installing car alarms, etc). Must be able to use a tape measure proficiently and being familiar with drill bits. Previous experience with wire harness assembly of electrical console assembly is a big plus.
Duties for the Automotive Electrical Technician positionInstall, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with distributed control systems.
Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in repairs and installations.
Fabricate parts as needed to support system repairs or upgrades.
Detect and diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to improve system performance.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
RequirementsProficiency in using precision measuring instruments for diagnostics and repairs.
Ability to fabricate components as necessary for system enhancements or repairs.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to detect issues efficiently.
Experience with CNC machinery is a plus but not required.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective customer interaction.
ASE certification in electrical/electronic systems is a big plus.
HS diploma/GED preferred. Must be able to read and write.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Able to work overtime on short notice.
Have the following tools: Standard wrenches, screw drivers (flat head and phillips), standard socket sets 1/4 and 3/8 in drive, needle nose pliers, channel locks, side cutters and tape measure.
