$30.00 - $40.00 per hour (DOE) Job Description We are seeking a skilled and reliable Puzzle & Systems Technician for Escape Room's to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of our interactive escape room environments. This is a hands-on role focused on diagnosing and resolving issues related to puzzles, low-voltage wiring, sensors, audio systems, and overall game flow to ensure a seamless guest experience. This role supports multiple locations , with a primary focus in San Luis Obispo , and requires occasional travel. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair escape room puzzles, props, and interactive systems Diagnose issues with low-voltage wiring, relays, sensors, switches, and control systems Work with and troubleshoot BAC controllers and MP3/audio trigger systems Ensure rooms are fully operational, reset correctly, and run smoothly for each game Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks Identify and resolve technical or game flow issues Document repairs, recurring issues, and recommended solutions Required Qualifications Experience with electronics and low-voltage systems Experience with BAC systems and MP3/audio playback triggers, puzzle flow and tech issues Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Comfortable working with tools, wiring, and mechanical components Ability to work independently and respond to urgent issues Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between locations Preferred Experience AV Technician, Theater/Stage Tech, Electrical, or similar background Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or basic programming Experience in escape rooms, themed entertainment, or immersive environments Schedule Flexible, as-needed / on-call Mix of scheduled maintenance and urgent troubleshooting Independent Contractor Notice (CA Compliance) This is a 1099 independent contractor role . The contractor will control how work is performed, provide their own tools when applicable, and may perform services for other clients. This role is project-based and does not guarantee ongoing hours.
