Controls Engineer - Direct Hire We are hiring a Controls Engineer to support the development and operation of automated manufacturing equipment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys PLC programming, troubleshooting automation, and working with engineering and production teams. Very work-life-friendly schedule with consistent daytime hours and very limited travel. What You'll Do Develop, modify, and maintain PLC and HMI programs for automated equipment. Work primarily with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell controls, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk. Troubleshoot automation, electrical, and equipment issues. Develop control layouts, programming standards, and technical documentation. Review electrical drawings, control panels, wiring diagrams, and related documentation. Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability. Assist with equipment installation, startup, testing, and commissioning. Provide occasional customer-site support, with travel generally around 10% or less. What We're Looking For 2+ years of industrial controls, automation, or PLC programming experience. Hands-on experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs. Knowledge of VFDs, servo systems, safety controls, instrumentation, and automated machinery. Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control systems. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Good communication and organizational skills. Siemens experience is a plus. Electrical Engineering, Controls, Automation, or related education preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience will be considered. Work Environment Primarily an office/engineering position with some time on the manufacturing floor and occasional customer-site work. Some environments may be heated or refrigerated.
