Position Summary Reporting directly to the company's owners, the Vice President of Construction will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and will be responsible for the overall performance of the construction division. This position will lead all field operations, including safety, quality, workforce development, scheduling, productivity, financial performance, client relationships, and project execution. All field craftsmen, foremen, superintendents, field engineers, safety personnel, and multi-site personnel will ultimately report through this position. The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader who understands complex, self-performed concrete operations and knows how to develop people, establish accountability, improve consistency, and successfully execute multiple projects in different locations. This individual must be comfortable moving between executive-level planning and hands-on involvement with field teams. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational leadership for all company field operations Lead, mentor, and hold accountable field craftsmen, foremen, superintendents, field engineers, safety personnel, and multi-site leadership Establish clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, scheduling, communication, and jobsite performance Ensure projects are properly staffed and field resources are allocated effectively across multiple jobsites Partner with the owners to establish company goals, support responsible growth, and make key operational decisions Review project progress, labor performance, schedules, production rates, and field-related risks Identify potential problems early and lead teams in developing practical, timely solutions Maintain consistent construction standards and operating procedures across all projects Promote proactive planning, including manpower, equipment, materials, site logistics, constructability, and sequencing Strengthen communication and coordination among field operations, project management, estimating, safety, quality control, and other departments Build a strong pipeline of qualified field leaders through coaching, training, succession planning, and performance management Support recruiting, onboarding, retention, and development efforts for construction personnel Reinforce a culture of accountability, teamwork, integrity, continuous improvement, and pride in workmanship Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable OSHA, MSHA, and other regulatory standards Visit active projects regularly to evaluate performance, support field leadership, and maintain direct knowledge of jobsite conditions Oversee the financial performance of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, labor productivity, change management, and margin performance Review project financial results regularly, identify risks or unfavorable trends, and work with project teams to implement corrective action Build and maintain strong client relationships by serving as an executive-level point of contact and ensuring commitments, expectations, and project objectives are met Partner with clients, general contractors, owners, and other key stakeholders to resolve challenges, strengthen trust, and identify opportunities for future work Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible concrete construction experience Significant leadership experience overseeing multiple field teams, projects, or geographic locations Strong knowledge of concrete construction, preferably within industrial, civil, infrastructure, material-handling, energy, or similarly complex environments Demonstrated experience managing superintendents, foremen, field engineers, safety teams, and craft personnel Proven ability to improve safety, quality, productivity, scheduling, and workforce performance Strong understanding of labor planning, equipment utilization, project scheduling, cost control, and construction operations Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, schedules, and project requirements Experience developing field leaders and building accountability across multiple organizational levels Strong decision-making, communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment Willingness and ability to travel regularly to jobsites nationwide Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred;
