Job Description

SR. ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATORY ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the acquisition of all environmental permits at the Cape, including but not limited to air, stormwater, industrial water, CWA 404 permits, St Johns Environmental Resource Permits (ERPs), KSC and AF environmental forms Act as the primary interface for KSC/CCSFS/Space Florida, and State/ local agencies relating to regulatory permitting Manage application preparation and submission, ensuring timely compliance and minimal disruptions to operations Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Facilities, Civil, EHS, legal, engineering, and operations teams, to identify permitting needs and integrate them into project timelines Conduct risk assessments for permitting requirements and advise on strategies to mitigate regulatory delays or non-compliance risks Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA, state environmental departments, local authorities) on permitting matters Monitor regulatory changes at federal, state, and local levels, and update internal policies and procedures accordingly Prepare reports, audits, and documentation for internal reviews, regulatory submissions, and leadership briefings
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience with environmental compliance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in environmental management, engineering or planning related field Experience implementing and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations Experience in the preparation of environmental permits such as air, industrial water, storm water, and wetlands Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local environmental regulations Knowledge of area-specific federal and state environmental laws and regulations required, as they apply to the aerospace industry Ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple projects at once, and follow through with a project until completion with minimal oversight Strong organizational skills and ability to document and manage key project details are essential Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead and organize large meetings Excellent document delivery, report organization and technical editing skills Experience using Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Cape Canaveral, Florida area Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours or weekends when needed Ability to travel to various locations included but not limited to; Florida, California, Texas Ability to travel internationally if required
