EMS Senior Technician-LAUSD W3Global Inc - 4.1 Los Angeles, CA Job Details $120,000 - $125,000 a year 16 hours ago Qualifications System troubleshooting Equipment troubleshooting Electrical wiring Computer networking Wiring and circuitry work Electrical troubleshooting HVAC system repair Electrical maintenance Full Job Description EMS Senior Technician Position Summary The EMS Senior Technician will support the EMS Supervisor in maintaining and optimizing the District's HVAC Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and Energy Management Systems (EMS). This role includes performing fieldwork, troubleshooting HVAC control systems, supporting commissioning activities, and collaborating with the LAUSD Technical Quality Support Team (TQST) to improve system performance, preventive maintenance practices, and energy efficiency across District facilities. Key Responsibilities Assist with HVAC DDC and EMS design reviews, submittals, and system evaluations. Review utility and energy consumption data to identify schools suitable for recommissioning and retro-commissioning initiatives. Analyze EMS data, alarms, and trends to identify no-cost and low-cost energy conservation opportunities and preventive maintenance measures. Conduct site visits to inspect, investigate, and evaluate EMS/DDC system conditions on assigned projects. Develop and implement cost-effective solutions and alternatives for EMS system repairs and upgrades at existing school sites. Respond to service and trouble calls, calibrate systems, and troubleshoot electrical and
HVAC DDC
issues. Support and assist with in-house commissioning projects and related field activities. Collaborate with installation teams, contractors, and facility personnel to ensure proper system functionality and performance. Maintain accurate service documentation and provide technical recommendations for system improvements. Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor's or Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. OR Two-year technical degree in HVAC, Electronics, or a related technical discipline, plus two additional years of relevant experience, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Experience Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience as an
HVAC DDC
Technician. Strong understanding of computer networking principles, including system configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ability to wire, start up, troubleshoot, and maintain
HVAC DDC
systems. Fundamental knowledge of HVAC systems and facility operations. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with multiple DDC platforms and manufacturers, including: Automated Logic Carrier Delta Distech Schneider Electric Trane Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve installation and startup issues during both static and dynamic commissioning phases. Experience supporting installation personnel and contractors on active project sites. Hands-on experience performing or supporting EMS commissioning activities. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. #INDW3
