The Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring the property, equipment, and facilities are maintained in a safe, efficient, and professional manner while supporting an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical proficiency, and a passion for maintaining high standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Responsibilities Oversee daily maintenance and engineering operations for the hotel property Manage preventive maintenance programs and ensure completion of work orders Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance team members Inspect hotel facilities, guest rooms, public areas, and equipment to ensure quality standards are met Coordinate repairs related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and local/state requirements Manage vendor relationships and oversee outside contractors as needed Monitor maintenance expenses and assist with departmental budgeting Respond to emergency maintenance issues and provide on-call support when necessary Support operational departments to maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment Requirements Previous hotel maintenance or engineering leadership experience Familiarity with HVAC systems, facilities management practices, and industrial maintenance procedures. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment Flexible schedule, including weekends and emergency situations as needed Excellent communication skills to coordinate with other departments.
