    Role:
    As a Senior Product Engineer, Post-Processing, you will design and direct the manufacturing processes that transform printed parts from the build plate into finished, inspected products for aerospace and defense applications. You will support new product introduction and continuous improvement of products already in production. Using advanced manufacturing techniques, automation, and lean manufacturing methods, you will develop optimized post-processing workflows and define the processes, procedures, work instructions, and systems needed to produce components and subassemblies to customer specifications.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Evaluate customer designs and provide Design for Additive Manufacturing feedback
    • Partner with the product team to optimize processing intent for customer requirements
    • Own process development for all operations after printing, including:
    • Part movement and handling
    • Depowdering
    • Build plate removal
    • Heat treatment
    • Support removal
    • Machining
    • Cleaning, marking, and finishing
    • Subcontracted operations
    • Work with quality teams to ensure appropriate inspection techniques meet customer requirements in development and production environments
    • Translate internal and external customer requirements into factory manufacturing steps
    • Build part-specific methods of manufacture in the company ERP system
    • Design, develop, and implement fixtures and work-holding for depowdering, EDM, heat treatment, support removal, machining, assembly, cleaning, marking, and finishing operations
    • Develop prototype fixtures and oversee their manufacture
    • Write and maintain work instructions and process-related quality documentation
    • Adapt existing processes for new products while maintaining proper file, program, and revision control
    • Review and disposition nonconforming material to keep parts moving through the factory
    • Support operations with troubleshooting and problem-solving across all process steps between printing and final delivery
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of post-processing workflows, fixtures, and manufacturing systems
    Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in product development, applications development, or manufacturing
    • Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, Biomedical Engineering, or a similarly regulated technical field
    • Proficiency in advanced 3D CAD software, such as Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks
    • Experience using ERP systems in a batch manufacturing environment
    • Deep knowledge of GD&T, statistical process capability, tolerance stack-up analysis, and complex DFM/DfAM constraints
    • Strong working knowledge of subtractive manufacturing operations, including 5-axis milling, turning, and EDM
    • Understanding of additive manufacturing post-processing operations, including depowdering and build plate resurfacing
    • Ability to develop robust processes, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation
    • Strong technical communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
    Preferred:
    • Experience working in an AS9100-certified environment
    • Experience supporting aerospace and defense products
    • Experience integrating additive and subtractive manufacturing workflows
    • Experience designing fixtures and work-holding for industrial manufacturing processes
