Key Responsibilities Supplier Launch & Manufacturing Support Serve as the primary manufacturing engineering contact supporting two Vehicle Assembly Area (VAA) suppliers located near Orion Assembly. Coordinate supplier launch activities to ensure production readiness and successful execution of vehicle build schedules. Support suppliers in accessing, understanding, and utilizing engineering data, specifications, and manufacturing documentation. Process Improvement & Production Analysis Study production methods, workflows, time studies, and operational processes to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency. Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity, equipment utilization, material flow, and operational effectiveness. Develop workflow diagrams, layouts, charts, and reports to support manufacturing operations. Engineering Documentation & System Navigation Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation. Review manufacturing and quality records to ensure compliance with engineering and quality standards. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze manufacturing and engineering data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Excel, Power BI, and other digital tools. Track launch metrics, issue resolution status, and supplier readiness indicators. Automation & Equipment Coordination Understand manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and assembly processes supporting vehicle production. Support troubleshooting and issue resolution related to manufacturing equipment readiness and production execution. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline. 2-4 years of manufacturing, industrial, production, supplier, or launch engineering experience. Experience supporting manufacturing operations, supplier coordination, or production launches. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret:
Engineering drawings, Blueprints, Schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Technical specifications, Engineering codes and standards, Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools., Experience utilizing Power BI or similar reporting platforms. Ability to work effectively in both office and manufacturing floor environments. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
