Job Description

Position Summary The Production Support Technician plays a critical role in maintaining production pace and supporting the continuous flow of material through the facility. This position is responsible for building wood skids, dunnage, spacers, and other packaging materials required to support daily production demands, while also ensuring company vehicles remain fueled and operational for on-time deliveries. Success in this role requires a strong sense of urgency, the ability to work at a fast and consistent pace, and a clear understanding that production cannot stop waiting on support materials. The Production Support Technician must anticipate needs, respond quickly to changing priorities, and maintain a steady output of quality skids and support services that keep production lines, packaging operations, and fleet activities moving without interruption. This individual must take pride in working with purpose, staying ahead of demand, and supporting the overall throughput of the operation through reliability, efficiency, and ownership of their area.
Key Responsibilities:
Wood Shop / Packaging Support Build wood skids, pallets, crates, dunnage, spacers, and other packaging materials to support daily production requirements. Interpret production requirements and construct skids to required dimensions and load capacities. Operate wood shop equipment safely, including saws, drills, nail guns, staplers, and other hand and power tools. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safe working conditions within the wood shop. Monitor lumber, fasteners, and packaging supply inventory and communicate replenishment needs. Repair or rework damaged skids and packaging materials when appropriate. Support continuous improvement of skid designs for efficiency, durability, and material utilization. Fleet Fueling & Equipment Support Fuel company trucks and designated equipment on-site using company fueling systems. Maintain accurate fueling logs, usage records, and inventory levels for on-site fuel storage. Perform routine visual inspections of fueling equipment, hoses, nozzles, pumps, and containment areas. Report leaks, damage, safety concerns, or maintenance needs immediately. Ensure fueling area remains secure, organized, and compliant with company safety standards. Production & Facility Support Deliver skids, packaging materials, and supplies to production areas as needed. Support packaging teams during high-volume periods. Assist with shop organization, housekeeping, and material staging. Support minor facility tasks, equipment moves, and general operational support as assigned. Assist with inventory counts of packaging and support materials. Respond to changing production priorities and urgent support requests. Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. 2+ years of manufacturing, warehouse, construction, carpentry, or industrial support experience preferred. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment. Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic math. Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Basic recordkeeping and documentation skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; heavier loads with assistance. Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work in an industrial environment. Ability to work in indoor warehouse conditions, including varying temperatures.
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
