Job Summary The Wiring Design Release Engineer is a key position responsible for designing and battery pack internal electrical connectivity systems for internal ABS and external customer products. Responsibilities Lead harness topology and partitioning. Package components and collaborate with other systems within the application. Optimize harness complexity across product lines to leverage standardization & modularity. Lead coding of all circuits. Complete electrical connectivity design for a batter system including Wire-list and DEF files for composite harness design, Load analysis. Review and anticipate voltage drop calculations circuit sizing. In-line connector pin count determination and circuit protection. Collaborate with Systems Engineers and BMS Hardware Engineers to ensure all internal and customer-specific requirements are met. Track and report on program progress to ensure requirements are met in a timely manner. Support pre-launch builds as well as product launches. Other duties as assigned. Predictable and reliable attendance. Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures. Adhere to federal and state regulations. Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Predictable and reliable attendance. Position Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Minimum of four (4) years of wiring experience within the Automotive Industry. Experience designing & specifying wire harnesses, flexible printed circuits (FPC), and automotive low- and high-voltage connector systems. Understanding of design best practices for wire routings, fixations, shielding & grounding Understanding of common industry standards governing connector and wire harness design and manufacturing Ability to interface with connector, PDC, vehicle architecture, and systems engineers to manage all electrical aspects of the wiring design. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and oral communications.
