Responsibilities Lead design and development of complex vehicle systems and components Define and own system architecture, requirements, and technical roadmaps Ensure manufacturability, quality, safety, and compliance for all designs Apply DFM/DFA, DFMEA, and robust engineering standards across programs Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain on industrialization Drive innovation in materials, powertrain, and vehicle integration Review and approve engineering documentation and validation plans Mentor and coach engineers, building technical capability in the team Lead problem solving for critical production and field issues Partner with BMW Group and global stakeholders on platform initiatives Required Skills Mechanical or automotive systems design CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, or similar) DFM/DFA and design for quality methods DFMEA and risk analysis Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Systems engineering and requirements management Automotive manufacturing processes Project and program management Data analysis and problem solving (e.g., 8 D, DMAIC)
