The Position As a Mechanical Engineer at Scanivalve, you will be working as part of a team of engineers from all disciplines including mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, and software engineers. You will have daily, direct contact beyond the engineering team including members from our production teams, customer support and senior leadership. This is a broad, hands-on role. This position is responsible for the mechanical design of new products and custom systems as well as supporting legacy products. On any given week you might be modeling a new sensor housing in SolidWorks, walking a prototype through machining and assembly, troubleshooting a mechanical issue on the production floor, or updating drawings for a product that's been in the field for years. You'll own your projects from early concept through design, prototyping, testing, and ultimately release to production, rather than just one slice of a much longer pipeline. This position reports directly to Scanivalve's senior leadership rather than working its way up through several layers of management. The path from idea to finished product is short, and the engineers doing the work also get to see it through. If you want real ownership over what you build, this is that role. Responsibilities Mechanical packaging design of Scanivalve's instrumentation products Manage complete workflow of assigned projects including conceptualization, design, prototyping, testing and ultimately successful production implementation Creation and maintenance of SolidWorks models, assemblies and drawings in accordance with best practices Hands-on support of the Scanivalve production team and production processes Test and validate new products/designs What We're Looking For Required Pressure and temperature instrumentation is a niche field, and we don't expect you to arrive already fluent in it — we'll teach you the specialized side. What we're looking for is someone who brings strong, well-grounded core mechanical engineering fundamentals and a great attitude to build that expertise on. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 2+ years of relevant work experience 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred) Strong work ethic, self-motivated and passionate about producing quality work Excellent written and verbal communication skills Bonus Experience Instrumentation and/or physical measurement Mechanical packaging SolidWorks SolidWorks advanced functions (Configurations, PDM, Simulation) AutoCAD (or similar 2D CAD) Hands-on, practical experience (machine shop, fabrication, restoration…) Production support (tooling, documentation, DFM…) DC wiring & circuit design Ethernet and/or networking Fluid Dynamics Why Scanivalve?
