Job Description

Are you a results-driven quality professional with a hands-on manufacturing background who thrives on the shop floor? As Cerebral Staffing, we are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Quality Engineer to join our team supporting our client, John Deere, in East Moline, IL. If you are a proactive problem solver with a "can-do" attitude and a knack for driving process compliance, non-conformance containment, and daily quality operations, we want to hear from you. Quality Engineer - 1st Shift - John Deere Harvester Works This is a vital, long-term 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $50/hr, including 2 Weeks of PTO. Supporting the Quality Services Team across all factory engineering processes, you will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Management to coordinate containment, drive in-line inspections, and maintain shop floor quality controls.
Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:
Up to $50/hr (W2).
Location:
100% Onsite at Harvester Works (East Moline, IL). Local candidates are highly preferred.
Duration:
1+ Years.
Shift:
1st Shift (6:00 AM - 3:00 PM). Must be willing to flex and support variable shifts as needed.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, with potential overtime required.
Benefits:

Safety Gear:
Metatarsal safety boots are required on Day 1.

Core Responsibilities Quality Operations Support:
Support in-line inspection, tool and gauge asset management, GD&T analysis, CMM inspection, and process control documentation.
Containment & Non-Conformance:
Drive non-conformance processing and containment activities using SAP, NCCA, DNCM, and other internal tools.
Shop Floor Collaboration:
Partner directly with operations, engineering, supply management, and shop floor staff (handlers, inspectors) to execute daily quality priorities.
Reporting & Communication:
Provide clear daily report-out documentation and ensure continuous communication regarding work status and priorities.
Required Skills & Experience Manufacturing Experience:
Strong, hands-on background in a manufacturing environment.
Adaptability & Mindset:
"Can-do" attitude with a proven willingness to engage, learn, and adapt to changing business needs.
Technical Literacy:
Computer proficiency in core Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Safety & Logistics:
Metatarsal boots required on Day 1; ability to support variable shifts and flexible hours as needed. What Makes You Stand Out Background in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) analysis. Experience with CMM programming or ISO quality management systems. Capability to create data and analytics tools for quality reporting.
